Beginning on December 1, 2020, at 9 AM PST , Blizzard's Battle.net accounts will no longer be available for users to log in with on Bungie.net or the Destiny Companion app, nor will users be able to create Bungie profiles using Battle.net credentials.
Destiny 2 improves upon its predecessor in every conceivable area, resulting in a content-packed, enjoyable FPS that will keep you entertained for months on end. There's a lot to enjoy here both solo and as a co-op experience.
Destiny 1 will no longer receive planned game updates or content. Destiny 1 content through Destiny: Rise of Iron will continue to be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Consoles, however players will have limited access to some Destiny 1 Activities.

Following the news that Bungie laid off 220 people, details have reportedly been revealed about the company's future, including that it isn't currently working on Destiny 3, that it will shift its focus from larger expansions to smaller updates for Destiny 2 that may be free, and that a Destiny spin-off was canceled.
Many players have approached Destiny from a single-player point-of-view since the beginning, so in that respect, there's no major loss except, for example, when the final stages of a storyline's progress require the completion of a Strike.
The short answer is no, Bungie is not abandoning Destiny 2 after The Final Shape. Will we get more expansions? That's harder to figure out. However, according to reports, that will no longer be the case.
