Giethoorn is actually a pretty little village with lots of thatched houses worth seeing. However, it is completely overrun by tourists, especially the canals are crammed with far too many boats. Luckily we were there in the off-season when bad weather was forecast, so we were able to see quite a lot.
Most tourists come for a day in Giethoorn, a weekend, or even a whole week in the beautiful “Dutch Venice.” No matter how long you plan to stay, Giethoorn has much to offer, so you certainly won't be bored for a moment!
