While Sonic, Tails and Knuckles all received minor design changes, Amy's clothing and hairstyle were completely revamped. She also had her entire figure redesigned to make her appear older. In addition to her redesign, her official age was changed from 8 to 12.
When we first meet Amy, she's 12 years old and mostly stays in the background as her older sisters go out and explore the world.
Some fans still think that Sonic is 15-16 in the games and that Amy is still 12, ignoring the fact that SEGA and Sonic Team deleted the ages of all of their game characters back in 2022. Sonic Channel confirmed this.
Do you think characters age in the main canon? Because Amy used to be stated as 8 years old but is now 12. Plus, in 06, when Shadow and Silver travel 10 years into the past, we see a younger version of Elise.
Amy's age is complicated. It was not Archie, She was indeed stated to be 8 during the Classic era In CD, which is the exact same age Tails was stated to be. When the Adventure era came and the modern era began, She redesigned and stated to be 12. However she was rarely written and treated as that age.
While Sonic, Tails and Knuckles all received minor design changes, Amy's clothing and hairstyle were completely revamped. She also had her entire figure redesigned to make her appear older. In addition to her redesign, her official age was changed from 8 to 12.
Since meeting Sonic on Little Planet, Amy has become his girlfriend and has attempted to win his heart by any means during their adventures. She wields the Piko Piko Hammer, a powerful melee weapon which she uses with skills second to none and never leaves home without.
Sonic's Movie Age:
This character is also not the "same" Sonic we see in the games, so fans shouldn't get confused over how he's younger than his game counterpart. As of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, we see Sonic celebrate yet another year on Earth, which once again pushing his age to be around 15 to 16 years old.
Every Sonic the Hedgehog movie so far was had a post-credits scene that reveals a character for the next film, with Tails appearing in the first movie, Shadow appearing in the second, and Amy and Metal Sonic appearing in the third.
OK, most of us know that Sonic's official age is 15, but he had a birthday in Generations. Plus, Classic Sonic appears to be much younger than Sonic of today.
